DENVER (February 4, 2009) - The academic career of an outstanding graduate student was recognized at the 2009 Cattle Industry Annual Convention held in Phoenix, Ariz., with a scholarship awarded in honor of one of the cattle industry’s greatest pioneers. The National Cattlemen’s Foundation honored the late Fred Johnson, of Summitville, OH, through the inaugural $2,000 graduate scholarship bearing his name.
“We are very pleased to honor the late Fred Johnson and his life’s work in the beef industry, while assisting young people who exemplify his drive and vision,” said Bob Josserand, chairman of the NCF Board of Trustees.
